The Shadow Movement.
Here in more detail is the animation of the shadow and how I made it more dynamic and realistic looking.

I wanted the shadow to make it look more realistic as the cartoon character went down a bit, then jumped up in the air and landed.

Above: The two layers of the shadow animation.
The animation is 11 frames in length.
Note the location of the different keyframes in the shadow layer and how I "tweened" between the Keyframes.
A frame-by-frame view showing how the shadow changes over the 11 frames:

11.
Right: In Keyframe 4, I wanted to make the shadow slightly darker as the character got closer to the ground, so I changed the brightness to -15% (see right) in the Effect control panel. Right: In Keyframe 8, I wanted to make the shadow smaller and lighter in color. First I modified the size of the shadow (Modifiy > Scale command), then in the Effect control panel I made the shadow more transparent by changing its "Alpha" setting to 35% (see right).
